Meet the Team of Senior Professionals
Bill Quish is the founder and Managing Director of Saybrook Capital Advisors. In his role, Bill leverages over 30 years of financial and transactional expertise, advising middle-market business owners regarding the sale, merger or recapitalization of their business. Bill has worked on private transactions in the manufacturing, business services, staffing, information technology, healthcare, life science, communication, insurance and specialty trade contractor industries, etc.
Prior to founding Saybrook Capital Advisors, Bill was a managing director of Lyons Solutions, LLC, a Merger & Acquisition advisory firm focused on the middle-market. There, Bill sourced, managed and co-managed Merger & Acquisition transactions and exit planning advisory assignments.
After graduating from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management, Bill began his career as a Certified Public Accountant at KPMG and subsequently Price Waterhouse Coopers. Following his career in public accounting, he was Manager of Agency Financial Services at The Hartford Insurance Group. During his early career in mergers & acquisitions, Bill provided outsourced CFO/COO services to two private companies.
Bill is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor. He frequently Tweets on Twitter (@Mergermaven), providing advice to over 800 business owners and advisors about all things related to merger & acquisitions. Bill is a member of the Connecticut Innovations’ Valuation Committee and the Association for Corporate Growth.
Bill and his wife enjoy spending time with their three adult children. He also enjoys boating, golf, working out and his annual summer trips to Nantucket.
Jack Lyons

Jack Lyons is a Senior Advisor and transaction support resource to Saybrook Capital Advisors.
Currently, Jack is the President of Lyons Solutions, LLC, a merger & acquisition advisory firm. Jack founded Lyons Solutions in 1984 and has sold numerous middle-market businesses in a wide variety of industries. He is particularly adept at helping companies increase their profitability and market value. Jack has extensive experience dealing with buyers and investors.
Prior to establishing Lyons Solutions, he was Chief Financial Officer for a medical technology company, a financial and marketing executive at Digital Equipment Corporation, and spent three years in plant operations at Welch Foods.
Jack has a BS in finance from Boston College and an MBA from Bryant University. He is a frequent speaker at professional conferences regarding Mergers & Acquisitions, exit planning and business valuation. Jack is a member of the American Staffing Association, Staffing Industry Analysts, and TechServe Alliance. He is an industry partner and former board participant of the New York Metro Chapter of the New York Staffing Association.
In 2013, Jack established The Owner’s Coach, a separate company dedicated to coaching business owners, partners and leaders to help then increase business profits, re-energize their passion for their work, and realize new visions and goals.

Rick Platt is a Senior Advisor and transaction support resource to Saybrook Capital Advisors.
Rick brings 30 years’ retail, licensing and brand management experience, knowledge and executive level contacts in the apparel, home, accessory and fashion industries. Over the years, he has sourced and participated in the closing of several merger & acquisition transactions.
Currently Rick is the Founder and President of Brand Matter, LLC. Brand Matter is a licensing strategy company focused on helping brand owners extend their reach and vendor partners find appropriate brands to license. Prior to forming Brand Matter, Rick was a Division President and founder of Sequential Brands (Nasdaq “SQBG”), President and founder of Brand Matter LLC (merged with Sequential Brands), President of the Waverly Division of NexCen Brands (sold to Iconix), Managing Director/President of Pillowtex (sold to Iconix), and Senior Director of Retail Marketing at NFL Properties and MLB Properties. Rick started his career in retail, first at G. Fox and subsequently at Ames Department Stores. Rick graduated from Johnson and Wales University with a BS in Business Administration.
